Trainer Guide: Expectation Board

Trainers who are organizing a KM workshop will want to take a look at this guide beforehand. The guide provides an overview of an interactive technique for evaluating the training workhop (or any other type of conference, meeting, or event), called an Expectation Board. With an Expectation Board, training participants (and the trainers themselves!) are asked at the beginning of the event to write their expectations for the training on cards and tape them onto an Expectation Board, on a side labeled "Expectations Set," for all participants to explore. Throughout the training, participants assess whether their stated expectations have been met and move their cards to another side of the Expectation Board labeled "Expectations Met." This trainer guide gives instructions on how to implement this evaluation activity. This qualitative technique can complement quantitative information provided from another evaluation activity, called the audience response system.
